Biography of Founder of Walk With Me: Timea Eva Nagy
Ms. Timea Eva Nagy was born in Budapest, Hungary and is the daughter of a local police woman. Ms. Nagy is not only a survivor of Human Trafficking but also a speaker and social advocate on behalf of human trafficking victims worldwide.
Ms. Nagy’s sex slave nightmare took place over 14 years ago when she immigrated to Canada in the hopes of fulfilling a summer position as a housekeeper or nanny and earning a little extra income. Upon arrival she was kidnapped, controlled, and kept under horrible conditions and was forced to work in the sex trade in Toronto and surrounding areas for 3 months until one day she miraculously escaped her captors.
Founder of Walk With Me
As a result of her experiences, Ms. Nagy has founded the independent organization known as Walk With Me. Walk With Me is a community based organization established by a survivor of human trafficking to rescue and restore the dignity, freedom and well being of human trafficked victims, by providing distinctive, coordinated and comprehensive immediate victim services in Ontario. Within the last 2 years alone her organization has assisted over 150 victims of human trafficking and continues to assist these victims as well as new ones everyday.
Providing Training and Education
Ms. Nagy has a true passion for providing training to law enforcement agencies, schools, organizations, and service providers so they may be able to effectively identify victims of human trafficking. She has provided training and worked with many agencies in Canada, the United States and Europe including but not limited to RCMP, FBI, Major Drugs and Vice Units and Federal Judges in the United States.
She has trained and assisted over 60,000 officers and Law Enforcement personnel across Canada since 2020.

2020 March Ottawa, Canada Parliament Hill, Bill- C268
Ms. Nagy was asked by MP Joy Smith to provide a statement for the House of Commons to support and advocate for her Private Members’ Bill C-268 which provides five year minimum sentences to offenders of trafficking minors.
2020-2020 Hamilton, Canada Project OPAPA
Ms. Nagy assisted the RCMP during a 2 year investigation called Project OPAPA. She provided ongoing support for 22 male victims in Canada’s largest Human Trafficking case. Ms. Nagy ensured the safety of the victims and witnesses enabling the prosecution to try the case successfully. As a result, Assistant Crown Attorney Toni Skarica was able to get the toughest sentence ever handed down in Canada for Human Trafficking. 2020 March Ottawa, Canada Parliament Hill, Bill- C310
Ms. Nagy was invited to testify in front of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, by the House of Commons, regarding MP Joy Smith’s Private Member’s bill C-310. Bill C-310 aimed to amend the Criminal Code to add the current trafficking in persons offences [s.279.01, s.279.011, s.279.02, and s.279.03] to the list of offences which, if committed outside Canada by a Canadian or permanent resident, could be prosecuted in Canada. The Bill has passed Royal Ascent and the amendment is now in our Canadian Criminal Code.
